NAME: Benson Gicharu
TITLE: The Governor’s Seat
MEDIUM: Mixed Media
DIMENSIONS: 71 (L) x 72 (W) x 115 (H) cm
ARTWORK DESCRIPTION: Appealing at first, the governor’s seat always turns out to be a hot one as a result of high levels of corruption. Even the usually-peaceful crane found on the county insignia is forced to turn its face away.
ARTIST PROFILE: A self-described activist, Benson says he likes to think outside the box and offer a view challenging conventionally held perspectives. Benson gives voice to the daily life struggles of ordinary people and dares to say what others will not.
